Rules For Posting
Fellow knights and maidens, due to various things that have come to my attention due to my blog, I am setting some new rules for commenting as of October 23rd, 2006. Please go over them briefly and keep them in mind when posting.
UPDATE: Rules have been extensively updated on January 8th, 2008.
1. The purpose of this blog is to glorify God.
a. Posters will refrain from posting ANYTHING that is profane, blasphemous, obscene, obnoxious, or inappropriate. Such comments will be mercilessly deleted. No comments will be edited, as I have neither the time nor the means to edit comments.
b. I love to respond to comments. I respond to almost every comment posted on the blog if I can. I also like encouragement. However, I will not respond to praise of my blog and/or posts as it makes me feel uncomfortable. Tell me if the post edified you or helped you in your walk with the Lord, so long as it is focused on God.
2. Please stay on topic.
a. Any comment that does not contain at least some relevance to the post it follows may and probably will be deleted. I can't move posts or edit them. Let's focus on the topic at hand if we can. It IS ok to include small talk in comments, but only if the comment has already discussed the post being commented upon.
b. I do not tolerate spam. Period. I am a former forum moderator who had to put up with that sort of thing a lot and I ruthlessly delete it.
3. Some thoughts on good post content.
a. Useful insight, extra knowledge, or encouragement about the topic at hand. Personal anectdotes related to application from the posts are welcome, of course. Agreement and disagreement are both welcome, though if you agree I would like for you to expound and illustrate why rather than simply say you agree.
b. I am not a theologian, only an aspiring theologian. Thus, I am always open to debate, discussion, correction, etc. I do not wish to try to hold myself up as being loftier or smarter than my elders. I am most glad of any helpful direction you might give me in response to my posts, and if I am in error - please point it out! This blog is as much of a learning experience for me as it is for everyone else. So post helpful things if you can. Do not be afraid to correct me (even if I end up in disagreement).
4. Rules on Redistribution
Links back to my posts are welcome. However, if you feel you must fully repost my work somewhere else, please read this notice first.
God bless you all!
For King, Kirk, and Covenant,
Albert Shepherd
The Aspiring Theologian
